  Obituaries Marion Smith (August 5, 1929 - July 24, 2008) Mrs. Marion Louise Smith, 78, a resident of Magnolia Assisted Living Center in Union City, died 7:00 p.m. July 24, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Union City. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in the Latham community in Weakley County. Brother James Kinsey and Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Mrs. Smith was born August 5, 1929, in Latham, daughter of the late Samuel Marshall and Verlie Rebecca Lochridge Crittendon. She married William Harold Smith April 6, 1947. He died April 17, 1975. She was a retired 18 year employee of the former Hubbell Lighting Company in Martin and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nina and Charles Davis of Union City and Cynthia and Gary Stallings of Johnson City, Illinois; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kerry and Terrie Smith of Union City and Larry and Carol Smith of Lenexa, Kansas; two grandsons, Tra Simmons and Will Simmons of Union City and one granddaughter and her husband, Kristie Lynn (Smith) and Chris Walker of Union City; two sisters, Ann Nanney of Pilot Oak, Kentucky and Jean Higgs of Dresden; her brother, Jimmy Lochridge of Dearborn, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Glynn Smith; five sisters, Margaret Hicks, Sue Rea, Obert Reed, Josy Brundrige and Jackie Wray; and her brother, John Lochridge.
