Strawberry Pies

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
4 Tablespoons cornstarch
2 teas lemon juice
3 oz. pkg. Strawberry Jello
1/2 teas. vanilla
2 Tablespoon butter
2 or 3 drops red food coloring

2 quarts whole strawberries

2 baked 9" pie crust


Cook first 6 ingredients until clear, add 2 Tbs. butter and food coloring. Cool & pour over chilled strawberries, that have been arranged in 2 baked 9 in. pie crust. Make sure you get glaze on all the berries. Cool and serve with cool whip. Makes 2 pies.
