Oatmeal Creme Brulee

2 cups quick oats,or 2 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teas. salt ( optional)
3 1/2 cups nonfat-milk
2 eggs or 1/2 cup egg substitute,lightly beaten
2 teas. vanilla
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar


Heat oven to 350*. Spray 8 inch square glass baking dish with cooking spray.

In large bowl combine oats, granulated sugar and salt. In medium mix bowl combine milk eggs and vanilla. Mix well and add to oat mixture. Mix well and pour in baking dish. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until center jiggles slightly. Just before serving top with brown sugar and broil until sugar bubbles.I have added raisins, or dried cherries & walnuts. I have also made as recipe calls for and made caramelized bananas or fried apple slices to top it off.
