Apple Dumplings

2 large Granny Smith apples
2 cans crescent rolls
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 sticks butter
1 can Mountain Dew


Peel and core apples and cut each apple into into 8 pieces. Separate rolls and roll each slice of apple in roll, beginning at wide end and rolling up to point.Place in 9 x 13 Pyrex or baking dish. Melt butter and add cinnamon and sugar. Spread over apple rolls. Pour Mountain Dew around rolls and bake at 350 for about 40 or 45 minutes.Serve warm with ice cream.You can reduce the sugar to 1 cup and butter to 1 stick, if this is too sweet and rich for you.
