Ingredients:
fresh pickling cucumbers cut in 1/4 length wise.
fresh dill sprigs
canning salt
vinegar
alum
waterInstructions:
Used fresh picked cucumbers that have been washed good. Cut cucumbers in 1/4 lengthwise and place in quart jars.Put a sprig of fresh dill in each jar. Put 1/2 teaspoon powdered alum on top of each quart. Make solution: In a one quart measuring jar put 1/3 cup canning salt and 1 1/2 cup vinegar(5% acidity) and finish filling jar with water. Mix well and bring solution to a boil and pour over cucumbers. Seal. Let set 2 or 3 weeks before eating.
